Welcome to Keep Streets Live Podcast Ep. 6 where I've interviewed violinist  Pete Hartley . First we chat about Pete's meetings at the Musicians Union Headquarters in London. Then I ask Pete about his work with founding Director of Keep Streets Live   Jonny Walker . Pete talks about his idea for the nation wide booking system he had which was in contrast to Jonny's idea of the streets being free and open to everybody. Then we chat about booking systems and playing music in shopping centres. Pete talks about his experience of busking in the tube for 18 months in the early 80s. I ask Pete about how the busking's going at the moment. He says he's only been doing it 42 years and still doesn't know what the secret is and tells us about some recent busking days. First I ask Serena about her musical beginnings as a fiddle player.  Then we chat about her busking blog and some of her experiences busking on the London Underground.  I ask Serena about any safety concerns she's had while busking. Next I ask her for EQ tips for budding fiddle players. We then chat about Serena's music and I ask if she's had any problems when dealing with authorities in Nottingham. I talk about Nottingham's Public Space Protection Order for busking and ask Serena if she's been affected by it. I ask Serena what her favourite and least favourite things are about busking. Welcome to episode two of the Keep Streets Live podcast where I've interviewed Busker and Director of Keep Streets Live Weybourne Chester Bingley . In this episode we chat about a meeting Chester has just had with Keep Streets Live, Westminster Council and the Westminster Street Performer's Association about a new idea to help deal with complaints from businesses about buskers. The idea is if a business makes a complaint they can do so by filling out an email form on the WSPA website . A representative from the WSPA will go down and assess the situation. If needed they will politely check in with the busker to try and solve the problem. They will then make a log of the complaint and what the outcome was. If they can show to the Council that they are working together as a community and working to keep everyone happy then hopefully they can avoid a licensing scheme being implemented.
